Marianske Lazne
The town of Marianske Lazne is the youngest one of the famous triangle
of the west Bohemian spas. Local healing springs are suitable for
treatment of urinary and respiratory tract diseases, metabolic and
endocrine disorders and orthopedic and skin diseases. Forty cold springs
rise here, also natural gas and peloid are used. As for the architecture,
the new-classic style, in which most of the houses were built, prevails.
The cast-iron colonnade from 1889 is the highlight of the town.
A rich offering of cultural, sport and social programs makes for an
enjoyable stay for guests during their time at the spa. Highlights
include the opening of the spa season in the beginning of May, then
the Marianskolazensky Cultural Festival in July and Chopinīs Festival
in the second half of August. Every other year the Chopinīs International
Piano Competition and the Festival of Music, Dance and Pantomime
are held here. A modern musical fountain was built next to the colonnade
recently. |
